Our iron and pole system is the best around and what's even better about it is how easy it is to build a great bird feeding system. We call it "big boys lego" as it's fun to start with the basic system and just keep adding arms and feeders as you feel like.

Set-up

This is what a classic bird-feeding system would look like. Anyway, it's seems a little complicated to start with, but it's not really. Let's start at the beginning.

Step 1

Every good feeder starts with a good grounding system, so you'll need a base pole and stabiliser- like the illustration to the left shows. And the photo below shows the real thing.

Base Pole

Once you have the base in place, you just add extra poles until you have you required height- about 6' or so. After that you add baffles (to keep those pesky squirrels and raccoons at bay) - doesn't work for bears, I am afraid and THAT'S another story......

Step 2Step 2

Now you add hooks for the feeders and maybe an extra arm or 2 for additional feeders and/or hanging baskets. The world is your oyster.......or so to speak. It's easy to add a double crook as seen below and then an extra arm....and so on.Double Crook and Arm

Then it's the final touches. Of course you may need a squirrel or raccoon baffle and then a finial atop the whole structure. In the above photo we have a bluebird finial. There are hummingbirds, cardinals and bees, amongst others, and all are in great taste......of course.

Step 3

You are now ready for the birds and yes, your first visitor will probably be a Tufted Titmouse (and they just love peanuts)

This is a great pole system. Stop by for a free leaflet and more information. See you soon!
