Art in Asheville

As we own a bird store here in Asheville, we have the honour of representing our local bird and nature artists. Our first artist is Lisa Walraven, who lives with her hubby in Swannanoa just east of Asheville. This piece is entitled "The Berry Pickers" and is large and gorgeous!

We have several other pieces in the store, although we do change them around from time to time.

Some of these pieces have sold, such as the Eastern Towhee (above), but should you have special requests for a favourite bird, just let us know. This male Rose-breasted Grosbeak is bold and striking.

Fran Brooks

Fran is an award winning, internationally collected artist residing in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, who paints in oils, acrylics and some mixed media.  Fran and her husband, Bill, live in a log cabin with their Border Collies, Sammy and Breagh, who have been the inspiration for many paintings.  Her greatest inspiration comes from the natural beauty in the surrounding mountains with the abundant wildlife.  Basically a self-taught artist, Fran has studied the works of noted landscape and seascape artists with her style evolving into realism with some impressionism.
